The Los Angeles Dodgers revealed Tuesday that right-hander Tyler Glasnow will start a rehabilitation assignment with their Single-A affiliate as the club continues its series against the Chicago Cubs.

Glasnow is scheduled to pitch for the Ontario Tower Buzzers on Aug. 4, marking his first competitive outing since early May.

The announcement comes while the Dodgers navigate a three-game set with the Cubs after dropping the opener 10-5. Team officials indicated the move represents a key step in Glasnow’s recovery process following an extended absence from the major league roster.

The Ontario affiliate posted on social media about the assignment.

“Mr. 1000 Strikeouts is back and pitching for the Tower Buzzers. The Los Angeles Dodgers will have MLB RHP Tyler Glasnow on a rehabilitation assignment with the Ontario Tower Buzzers on Tuesday August 4, 2026.”

Glasnow reached the 1,000-strikeout milestone in his big league career just before he was sidelined.

The Dodgers have operated without Glasnow for roughly three months, placing added pressure on the rest of the starting staff during the heart of the season. Los Angeles plans to feature newly acquired pitcher Tarik Skubal in his first outing wearing a Dodgers uniform on Tuesday night.

Club expectations point to Glasnow rejoining the major league rotation at some point this month, alongside fellow starter Blake Snell. Both pitchers have been working toward returns that could bolster a rotation aiming to stay competitive in the National League West race.

The timing of Glasnow’s rehab start aligns with the Dodgers’ broader effort to restore depth to their pitching group after several prolonged absences. Ontario, known as the Tower Buzzers, serves as the organization’s Low-A affiliate and has hosted multiple rehabilitation appearances this season.
