Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte has sparked concern among fans after nearly wiping his Instagram feed clean over the weekend, leaving only a single post from June 11.
That remaining photo carries a Spanish-language caption that translates to an expression of faith and gratitude directed toward God, with comments restricted on the post. Marte had previously been active on the platform, sharing both personal content and material connected to the Diamondbacks.
As of Monday morning, however, the organization is not exploring trade possibilities involving the veteran, according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.
The development comes at a moment when Marte continues to produce at a high level for the club. He leads the Diamondbacks this season with 19 home runs and 104 hits while appearing in 101 of the team’s 106 games, placing him just one contest behind teammates Corbin Carroll and Geraldo Perdomo for the team lead in games played.
Trade speculation around Marte is nothing new. He was the subject of rumors as recently as last offseason, following questions about his absence from the team after the 2025 All-Star break. A June report from Bob Nightengale indicated that some within the organization remained frustrated with the situation.
Marte’s standing has shifted this year with the activation of his 10-and-5 rights—ten years of major-league service and five consecutive seasons with the same club—granting him a full no-trade clause that allows him to reject any proposed deal.
Previously he held a limited no-trade clause that was reported to cover five specific teams: the New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Athletics.
The timing of the Instagram activity has drawn comparisons to past situations in Arizona sports. Fans recalled how former Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray once cleared franchise-related content from his own social media accounts during contract talks that ultimately produced a lengthy extension.
Whether Marte’s decision carries similar intent remains unclear, but the Diamondbacks’ stated position at present is that they are not looking to move him ahead of the August 3 trade deadline.
Marte’s production and availability have made him a central figure in Arizona’s lineup throughout the season.
With the deadline approaching and the club navigating its place in the National League wild-card picture, the second baseman’s future remains a topic of interest even as the front office signals stability for the time being.
