The Dallas Mavericks were able to even up their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to a historic performance from Luka Doncic and PJ Washington. After a tough loss in Game 1, the Dallas Mavericks were able to bounce back in a big way in Game 2.

Splitting the first two games on the road is massive for the Mavericks, as they now will be heading home with homecourt advantage in the series moving forward. That is always a big deal in the playoffs, and the Mavericks will be seeking to take control of the series in Games 3 and 4.

In the win, the Mavericks had a historic performance from Luka Doncic and PJ Washington. Here’s what the duo was able to accomplish from ESPN.

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, Doncic and Washington became the first duo to each have at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, and five made 3s in a playoff game in NBA history.

In the win, Washington could total 29 points, 11 rebounds, and seven 3-pointers. For Doncic, he finished with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and hit five 3-pointers. While seeing Doncic put up these numbers isn’t surprising, this was a great game for Washington on the road.

Considering Kyrie Irving only scored nine points in the game, it was shocking to see the Mavericks come out with a win. Washington might be the third piece for the Mavericks in the series, as his ability to stretch the floor is massive for their offense.

While Luka Doncic and PJ Washington led the way, the Dallas Mavericks as a team hit 18 three-pointers and shot just under 50 percent from deep. Shooting like that is going to help the Mavericks win a lot of games, and this series is shaping up to be a fun one after two games.
