Is Micah Parsons wearing out his welcome with the Dallas Cowboys? DeMarcus Lawrence certainly seems to think so based on the recent back-and-forth exchange he had with his now-former teammate on social media.
Parsons has one year left on his contract and has been eligible for an extension since last offseason, but little to no progress seems to have been made with the Cowboys.
This has led to many wondering if Dallas could potentially trade the superstar edge rusher, and Joe Giglio of 94 WIP has proposed the idea of the Cowboys sending Parsons to the Philadelphia Eagles (yeah right).
“Am I allowed to dream? Parsons is my NFL Juan Soto,” Giglio wrote. “I want him in Philadelphia at all costs, regardless of how fans here currently feel about him. We’re talking about an all-time start to his career. If Parsons stays healthy and on this track, he’ll be in Canton one day.”
Giglio knows that the chances of Dallas actually trading Parsons to the Eagles are slim to none, but he feels that anything is possible so long as Jerry Jones is running the show.
“Would the Cowboys actually trade him here? Probably not, but Jerry Jones is in his Al Davis era. Anything is possible,” Giglio added.
Let’s just stop this right here: Dallas isn’t trading Parsons to Philadelphia. No way, no how. The Eagles could offer the Cowboys the entire farm for him, and Dallas wouldn’t bite.
The idea of Parsons being dealt in general isn’t so farfetched, though, as the Cowboys have significant financial issues, and there have long been rumblings that Parsons’ act has worn a bit thin in Dallas.
Still, the Penn State product has racked up 52.5 sacks over his first four NFL seasons and is on track to becoming one of the best pass rushers ever, so the Cowboys will obviously have to approach this situation with a great deal of care.
