The Dallas Cowboys are fresh off of a brutal 44-19 home loss to the New Orleans Saints, leaving both the team and fans reeling.
However, amidst the disappointment, there is a glimmer of hope as Pro Bowl tight end Jake Ferguson returned to practice this week.
After injuring his knee in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns, Ferguson was forced to sit out the blowout loss to New Orleans. His absence was clearly felt, especially with the offense struggling to find rhythm.
According to team insider Todd Archer, Ferguson was spotted fully participating in Wednesday’s practice session.
“Jake Ferguson (knee) did everything during open portion of practice,” Archer posted on social media, signaling that Ferguson’s return to game action could be imminent.

The young tight end’s presence is crucial for the Cowboys’ offense. Ferguson, who made the Pro Bowl in just his second season with the team in 2023, emerged as a reliable target for Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott.
Last season, he hauled in 71 receptions for 761 yards and five touchdowns, solidifying himself as a key contributor. Outside of All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and No. 2 wideout Brandin Cooks, Ferguson is one of the top options for Prescott in head coach Mike McCarthy’s offense.
With the Cowboys set to face a surprisingly winless Baltimore Ravens team this week, the potential return of Ferguson couldn’t come at a better time. The Ravens, sitting at 0-2, have narrowly lost games to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders.
Despite their record, the Ravens could easily be 2-0 and will likely come into the game desperate to avoid an 0-3 start. It’s a must-win game for both sides, and the Cowboys will need all the help they can get to avoid slipping further behind in the NFC East.
Dallas is in dire need of a bounce-back performance after last week’s letdown against New Orleans. The return of Ferguson could provide a huge boost, offering Prescott another reliable target and helping open up the offense.
The Ravens will be a tough test, but with Ferguson back in the lineup, the Cowboys have the opportunity to regain some much-needed momentum and turn their season around.
As both teams face mounting pressure, all eyes will be on this pivotal matchup. With Ferguson back, Dallas fans can hope the offense finds its groove again in what could be a defining game early in the season.
