Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is not listed on the trade block, yet one national reporter sees the Kansas City Chiefs as a logical destination before the Nov. 10 deadline.
Carter Bahns of CBS Sports wrote this week that the Browns could part with the veteran before the cutoff. He listed Kansas City among the teams that might benefit, arguing the Chiefs’ offense still lacks one more piece as it sits back in the Super Bowl picture.
The Chiefs did not add a significant wide receiver in the offseason despite widespread expectation they would. Bahns said the current group looks thin once the top options are accounted for.
“While the Chiefs did not invest in any wide receiver help in the offseason, they have the look of an offense that could benefit from another weapon out wide or in the slot,” Bahns wrote. “Jeudy and Rashee Rice can both move around in the formation while Xavier Worthy remains a deep threat and YAC accumulator out wide.”
Depth behind those starters is described as minimal. An injury to Rice or Worthy could force a sharp drop in production late in the year.
“With this team squarely back in the Super Bowl conversation, it needs to both maximize its wide receiver output and add insurance behind the starters in order to prevent late-season regression,” Bahns wrote.
Jeudy has struggled to find targets in Cleveland. Through four games he has five catches for 62 yards and no touchdowns on eight targets, the slowest start of his career.
His role has shrunk since a Pro Bowl 2024 season in which he caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards and four scores. In 2025 he managed 50 receptions for 602 yards.
Even with the dip, the 27-year-old has been durable. He owns 356 career receptions for 4,946 yards and 17 touchdowns and has played at least 15 games in each of the past four seasons.
Any team that acquires him would owe only a $1.5 million base salary this year and next under the three-year, $52.5 million extension he signed in 2024. The 2027 money is not guaranteed.
Kansas City’s offense has opened the season at a high level. New running back Kenneth Walker III has 360 rushing yards and 82 receiving yards through three games, giving him 442 yards from scrimmage.
Tight end Travis Kelce, who returned on a new three-year deal after weighing retirement, has 14 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns in those same three contests.
Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk noted the historical marker Kelce is approaching.
“Kelce has 1,094 receptions in his NFL career, tying him with Tim Brown on the all-time list. With his next catch, Kelce will move ahead of Brown and be No. 7 in NFL history for career catches. In first place on the all-time catch list is Jerry Rice, whose record of 1,549 receptions may never be broken. Kelce won’t catch Rice even if he plays until he’s 40.”
No report has indicated the Chiefs have contacted the Browns about Jeudy. The deadline remains more than five weeks away, and Cleveland has not signaled any willingness to move him.
