The Chicago Bulls shuffled the edges of their roster Wednesday, waiving forward Marquel Sutton and signing 6-foot-7 wing Jalen Bridges, the team announced.

It is a familiar kind of September transaction: one training-camp body out, another in, with an eye toward G League depth and a possible Exhibit 10 bonus if the new addition does not survive opening night.

Bridges, 25, is not a household name, but he is not a complete unknown either. The Fairmont, West Virginia product went undrafted out of Baylor in 2024 after two seasons at West Virginia and two with the Bears, where he earned Third Team All-Big 12 honors as a senior.

Phoenix gave him a two-way contract that fall. He appeared in eight NBA games for the Suns and spent most of his rookie year with the Valley Suns, showing the 3-and-D outline teams keep chasing in undrafted wings.

Last fall, he got what basketball people still call a cup of coffee with the Boston Celtics.

Boston signed him to an Exhibit 10 deal on Sept. 19, 2025, a training-camp contract that typically includes a G League affiliate bonus if the player is waived and then spends at least 60 days with the farm club.

Bridges made the camp roster, logged a few preseason minutes, and was waived on Oct. 16 as Boston finalized its 15-man group.

From there, he spent the 2025-26 season with Maine, Boston’s G League affiliate, starting regularly and producing as a floor-spacer who can steal a possession on the wing.

He averaged 14.1 points and 1.5 steals in 32.5 minutes with 37.2 percent shooting from three last season in Maine. The tape is consistent: catch-and-shoot threes, some slashing, and enough length to bother opposing wings.

Sutton, a 6-foot-7 forward out of LSU, had signed with Chicago only days earlier after a productive Kings Summer League.

He now becomes eligible for an affiliate bonus of up to $91,000 if he lands with the Windy City Bulls for 60 days. Bridges is likely on a similar path.

Chicago can evaluate him in camp, keep him if he separates himself, or waive him and park him in the G League with a financial sweetener attached.

For the Bulls, the appeal is straightforward. Bridges is a ready-made developmental wing with NBA minutes already on his résumé and a year of starting-caliber G League work behind him.

For Bridges, Chicago is another door after Phoenix and that brief Boston stop. Exhibit 10 deals rarely last. The ones that matter are the next ones.
