Bills Linked to 1,200-Yard WR Trade After Week 2 Win

The Buffalo Bills have spent years building a contender around Josh Allen. Another veteran wideout with proven production would fit the pattern general manager Brandon Beane has followed before.

After DJ Moore left Thursday night’s win over the Detroit Lions with a shoulder injury, Cleveland radio host Ken Carman immediately pointed the Browns toward Buffalo as a landing spot for Jerry Jeudy.

“DJ Moore got hurt and immediately, the Jerry Jeudy tweets got started,” Carman said. “Make them an offer. Make them an offer. Please, go, I’m serious. If Andrew [Berry] is listening, I am sure you’ve already talked to him, talk to him again. It’s still Brandon Beane. You’ve made deals with him before when it comes to wide receivers. Send (Jeudy) on up there. Don’t need to worry about it anymore.”

Moore’s injury is not expected to keep him out long, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, yet even a short absence highlights how thin Buffalo can look beyond its top two receivers.

Khalil Shakir remains a reliable slot option, but the Bills have not fully settled the rest of the room. A midseason addition of Jeudy would give Allen a second boundary target who already knows how to win against zone coverage and create after the catch.

Jeudy is not coming off his best season. In 2025, he managed only 50 receptions for 602 yards and two touchdowns while dropping 10 passes. Context matters. Cleveland’s quarterback play and offensive line ranked among the league’s worst, and the Browns drafted two young receivers this spring who are now competing for snaps.

Two years earlier, Jeudy delivered a Pro Bowl campaign of 90 catches and 1,229 yards. That version of the Alabama product is still only 27. A change of scenery and a quarterback who can place the ball on time could restore some of that production without asking Jeudy to be the clear No. 1.

The contract helps the fit. Cleveland restructured Jeudy’s deal so that most of his 2026 salary remains the Browns’ responsibility.

Buffalo would inherit a modest cap number and a player who can contribute immediately rather than a long-term financial commitment. Beane has made similar receiver deals with Cleveland before.

Carman suggested a second-round pick might be the asking price; even a later-round selection would be worth exploring if Moore’s shoulder lingers or if another injury hits the position.

For Bills fans, the appeal is straightforward. Allen already stretches defenses vertically and with his legs.

Adding a receiver who posted over 1,200 yards as recently as 2024 would give coordinators more ways to attack third downs and the red zone. It would also provide insurance while younger players continue to develop.

The Browns appear ready to move on. Buffalo, fresh off opening a new stadium and still chasing a Super Bowl, has every reason to listen.

Whether the two sides actually complete a deal remains uncertain, but the logic from a Bills perspective is clear: a proven receiver at a manageable cost is rarely a bad bet when the window is open.
