Titans Predicted to Make Shocking Move to Replace Cam Ward

Tankathon’s latest 2027 NFL mock draft has the Tennessee Titans selecting Texas quarterback Arch Manning with the No. 2 overall pick, a projection that would put the franchise back in the quarterback market two years after taking Cam Ward first overall.

Ward is 0-4 as the starter this season. He has completed 75 of 119 passes for 726 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, an 81.4 passer rating. On Sunday he was 20 of 31 for 222 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 24-18 loss at Baltimore, plus 27 rushing yards.

The Titans trailed 24-7 at halftime before Ward found Wan’Dale Robinson for a score inside the final two minutes. An onside kick failed.

Titans coach Robert Saleh said “no” when asked if he would consider sitting Ward. The second-year passer remains the starter. The record and the production have not matched the No. 1 pick from Miami.

Manning is listed at 6-foot-4 and 222 pounds. Tankathon has him second on the overall board and first among quarterbacks, with 862 passing yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions and a 141.3 rating on the site’s latest totals.

The name carries the rest of the résumé. He is the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning and the grandson of Archie Manning. Texas has spent two seasons building the offense around him after a limited 2024 sample.

The 2026 numbers on Tankathon are not the video-game line some expected. The pedigree and the arm still have him ahead of Darian Mensah, C.J. Carr and Dante Moore on the mock.

Tennessee’s team page on the site pairs Manning with the Titans at No. 2, then Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown in Round 2. Team needs are factored in. An 0-4 start is how a club that already spent a first overall pick on a quarterback ends up in range of the next one.

Ward’s rookie deal runs four years. Sitting him is not the plan Saleh described. Drafting Manning would still be a reset: a second franchise quarterback before the first has a winning season.

General manager Mike Borgonzi took Ward in 2025 and wide receiver Carnell Tate in 2026. The mock treats the position as unfinished.

The supporting cast has not helped. Tennessee is averaging 13.8 points and 181.5 passing yards a game, both near the bottom of the league. Tony Pollard leads the rush. The offense has not created explosives. Manning would inherit that room, not a finished one.

Tankathon updates the order after every game and the rankings on a separate cycle. A Titans win over Houston would move the pick. Manning’s stock moves with Texas. Neither has to hold for the idea to stay alive: a 0-4 team with a young quarterback who has not separated himself is exactly the profile that drafts another one.

Replacement is the word because the board says so. Saleh has not. The mock has Tennessee taking Manning at No. 2 before it has to decide whether Ward’s second season is a development year or a miss.
