Brazilian UFC flyweight Allan Nascimento died Monday at age 34 after suffering an apparent heart attack while sleeping, the promotion announced.
Nascimento was discovered unresponsive that morning. Emergency medical personnel responded but could not revive him, and he was declared dead at the location.
In a statement, the UFC said: “This morning, Monday, August 3rd, our beloved flyweight fighter, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep. Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The organization continued: “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan’s family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
Nascimento competed professionally since 2011 and built a 22-7 career record. Sixteen of his victories came by submission. Inside the UFC, he went 4-2 across six appearances and collected two Performance of the Night awards.
His most recent bout occurred in June at a UFC Fight Night card in Las Vegas, where he dropped a split decision to Mitch Raposo. Prior to that setback, he had strung together four consecutive wins.
The fighter, nicknamed “Puro Osso,” which translates to “All Bones” in reference to his slender build, first appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2018. Although he lost a split decision there to Raulian Paiva, he later earned a UFC contract and debuted in 2021.
Nascimento trained at the Chute Boxe gym in São Paulo under coach Diego Lima. He regularly shared the mats with several prominent Brazilian athletes, including former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and lightweight contender Elves Brener.
Oliveira shared a personal message on social media following the news.
“Today, our team loses much more than an athlete; we lose a warrior, a friend, a dedicated competitor, and an extraordinary human being who earned the respect and admiration of all who had the privilege of knowing him,” he wrote.
“Allan inspired both on and off the mats with his determination, humility, respect, and fighting sprit. His presence will leave an immeasurable void. Rest in peace, Allan. Your name, your story, and your legacy will live on forever through our star.”
The Chute Boxe team described Nascimento as a warrior, friend, dedicated competitor and extraordinary human being. The gym stated that he earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him and inspired others through his determination, humility, respect and fighting spirit.
Fellow UFC middleweight Caio Borralho remembered him as one of the kindest fighters he had encountered, noting his polite nature, positive energy and consistently good spirits.
Nascimento stood 5-foot-8 and competed at 125 pounds. He had established Las Vegas as a second home in recent years while remaining closely tied to his Brazilian roots and training partners.
The UFC and members of the MMA community continue to offer support to those closest to the late fighter as details surrounding the sudden loss emerge.
