The Cleveland Browns’ wide receiver room has generated plenty of intrigue entering the 2026 season, but not all of the attention has been positive.

Two members of the group, Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman, recently found themselves included on an unwanted NFL list that highlights players facing significant pressure heading into the new campaign.

Nick Brinkerhoff of USA Today recently published a piece detailing 13 players who could be on the block come the trade deadline, and both Jeudy and Tillman made the cut.

While the Browns have added exciting young talent to the position through the draft, Jeudy and Tillman remain two of the franchise’s most important receivers. Their inclusion on the list underscores the expectations surrounding both players as Cleveland looks to rebound offensively.

For Jeudy, the spotlight comes after a disappointing follow-up to his breakout 2024 season. After establishing himself as Cleveland’s No. 1 receiver with a Pro Bowl campaign, his production fell considerably in 2025 despite remaining heavily involved in the offense.

The inconsistency of the Browns’ quarterback situation certainly played a role, but Jeudy also struggled with efficiency and drops, leading many analysts to question whether he can return to the form that made him one of the league’s more dangerous route runners.

Even so, Cleveland has continued to express confidence in Jeudy’s ability to lead the receiving corps. His experience, contract, and proven upside make him a central piece of the offense, and a fresh coaching staff offers an opportunity for a reset entering the season.

Tillman’s situation is different but just as important. The former third-round pick has flashed potential during stretches of his career, yet injuries and inconsistent production have prevented him from establishing himself as a full-time starter.

Now entering another pivotal season, he faces increased competition after the Browns invested premium draft capital at wide receiver this offseason.

The additions of rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston have deepened the position and created what could be one of the team’s most competitive training camp battles. Analysts have noted that Tillman will need a strong summer to solidify his place in the rotation as younger players push for larger roles.

Despite both receivers appearing on a list for the wrong reasons, the Browns’ coaching staff likely views it as motivation rather than a verdict.

Jeudy has already demonstrated he can produce at a high level in Cleveland, while Tillman has shown enough flashes to suggest he can still carve out a meaningful role if he stays healthy and performs consistently.

With training camp underway, both receivers will have an opportunity to change the narrative. If Jeudy returns to being the reliable top target the Browns envisioned and Tillman capitalizes on his opportunities, Cleveland’s receiving corps could quickly transform from a group surrounded by questions into one of the team’s biggest strengths.
