The Buffalo Bills returned to Orchard Park on Tuesday as mandatory minicamp got underway, marking the official start of preparations for the upcoming NFL season. Quarterback Josh Allen, now in his ninth year with the franchise, arrived with a renewed sense of energy despite reaching a personal milestone.

Allen recently turned 30 and celebrated the occasion alongside his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, and their newborn daughter. Yet the veteran signal-caller says the years in the league have not diminished his enthusiasm on the field.

“It still feel like I’m here in year three or four,” he told reporters on Tuesday. “The time does fly by. Just trying to enjoy every moment of it.”

This season brings multiple transitions for Allen and the organization. Beyond entering a new decade of life and stepping into fatherhood, the team will play its first campaign in a brand-new stadium. The shift represents both a fresh beginning and the close of an era at the previous venue.

“Obviously, a lot of memories in the old one. I’m not too much of a sentimental guy, so this place has got grass, and it’s going to be pretty cool,” Allen said.

He expressed confidence that supporters will quickly embrace the updated facility.

“I’ve been in there a few times, and I think the fans are going to be pleased and get that place rockin.”

While much of the media session focused on on-field topics like building rapport with teammates and refining offensive chemistry, Allen also entertained a lighter question about life at home with his young daughter. Though she is still too little to tackle books independently, her parents have already begun sharing stories with her.

“The Pout-Pout Fish,” Allen answered. “That’s a good one. She likes that one.”

Allen first spoke publicly about the impact of becoming a father back in April, noting how the new role has subtly reshaped his overall approach heading into 2026.

“I think it definitely changes the mindset a little bit,” he told reporters in April.

He voiced strong optimism about the coming year, believing the experience will elevate his performance across every part of his life.

“I’m very excited. I do think this is going to be the best version of myself — in all aspects, my professional career and my personal life.”

Allen credited his wife for providing essential support during this busy period, allowing him to fully commit to his duties with the team while managing family responsibilities at home.

“It’s such a blessing. I’ve got an absolute rockstar of a wife that’s doing so many things right now and allowing me to be here right now and be with my teammates. Special times.”

When asked about adjusting to life with a newborn, the quarterback offered a candid and humorous response about whether or not he’s getting sleep.

“No,” Allen answered with a laugh. “But I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s very rewarding.”

As the Bills enter the 2026 campaign widely regarded as one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the league, Allen appears poised to draw on both his extensive experience and fresh personal motivations. The combination of new stadium surroundings, evolving team dynamics, and life as a father could fuel what many expect to be one of his most complete seasons yet.

Fans in Buffalo will be watching closely to see how these chapters unfold once the regular season begins.
