With the Los Angeles Clippers eliminated from the NBA playoffs, recent Clippers rumors are that Paul George will be testing free agency this summer.

After a disappointing season for the Los Angeles Clippers, there have been a lot of rumors surrounding what might be next for the franchise. One of the biggest looming questions for the Clippers is going to be what happens with George this summer.

At 34 years old, Paul George had a very good season for Los Angeles, as he averaged over 20 points per game and shot over 40 percent from beyond the arc. George has always been known as a good defender, and his versatility on both ends of the court allows him to fit on any team.

Despite playing well during his time with the Clippers, it seems like the Clippers aren’t interested in offering George a max contract. Furthermore, without a max contract being offered, George seems like he will be testing the waters of free agency.

Paul George looking to potentially play elsewhere next season certainly makes sense for him. The combination of him and Kawhi Leonard in Los Angeles has been a massive disappointment, as the closest they have come to an NBA Championship is one trip to the Western Conference Finals.

At this stage in his career, George will also likely start to slow down a tad. The 34-year-old is certainly not a young man by NBA standards, especially when taking into account the playoff mileage. However, for a young team looking to make a step up or a title contender looking for the final piece, George will be a very appealing player to target.

However, if the Clippers were reluctant to offer a max to George, it would be interesting to see what his market is going to be. If George wants to win and be a contender, taking a little less money might be what he has to do.
