The Baltimore Ravens hammered the Houston Texans by a score of 34-10 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Saturday, and afterward, Lamar Jackson spoke about his club’s big second half.

“We had the bye week, but we still stayed locked-in, focused,” Jackson said during his postgame interview, via John Macon Gillespie of Ravens Country. “We haven’t been in a game atmosphere for a week, it just started off slow in the first half, but the second half, we dialed it up and started connecting.”

The Ravens and Texans were knotted up 10-10 at halftime after Houston wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. punched in a 67-yard punt return touchdown.

However, in the second half, the Ravens got busy, scoring 24 unanswered points. Seventeen of those points came in the fourth quarter.

Jackson finally broke through with a huge playoff performance, going 16-for-22 with 152 yards and a couple of touchdowns while also carrying the ball 11 times for 100 times and a pair of scores.

Now, Jackson will take part in the AFC Championship Game for the first time in his career. As for what he’s looking forward to the most about the event?

“Playing in it,” Jackson said plainly. “Just playing. Just getting out there on that field, and we’re going to go from there.”

During the regular season, Jackson threw for 3,678 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 67.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 102.7. In addition, he rushed for 821 yards and five scores while averaging 5.5 yards per carry. Those numbers earned Jackson his third trip to the Pro Bowl and his second First-Team All-Pro selection.

More importantly, the 26-year-old will more than likely take home MVP honors for the second time.

Next week, Lamar Jackson and the Ravens will take on the winner of the Kansas City Chiefs-Buffalo Bills matchup.
