Analyst Suggests Monster Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox Trade

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox are on opposite sides of the spectrum in the 2024 season. The Dodgers are legitimate World Series contenders with one of the best rosters in the MLB. The White Sox have the worst record in baseball and are going to make a run at the most losses in single-season history.

Given the current state of each franchise, it makes sense that they could become trade partners ahead of the deadline. The Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to buy, while the Chicago White Sox have some attractive pieces to sell.

That is part of the reason that MLB analyst Jim Bowden of The Athletic has pitched a blockbuster deal between the teams. A massive 10-player blockbuster has been suggested, which would shake up the current landscape of the league.

“This would be an industry shocker — a 10-player trade! — that would put the Dodgers in a much better position to run the table in the postseason and would jump-start the White Sox’s rebuild,” Bowden wrote in a June 17 story on “5 trades I’d like to see.” “The Dodgers have a loaded farm system and the major-league roster to win it all now, so why not finish the job with one mammoth blockbuster deal?” (H/T Heavy)

Who would be involved in this massive proposal? Heading to the Los Angeles Dodgers would be centerfielder Luis Robert Jr., starting pitcher Garrett Crochet and reliever Michael Kopech.

That is arguably the three best trade chips the Chicago White Sox have. To move all of them, they would receive a massive haul of players. Bowden has pitched Andy Pages, who is currently on the major league roster, and prospects Dalton Rushing, Nick Frasso, Kyle Hurt, Payton Martin, Justin Wrobleski and Emil Morales.

All of those prospects are in the top-20 of the Los Angeles Dodgers system. Rushing is No. 1, while Frasso and Hurt are both top-10 as well.

A deal of this magnitude would certainly help bolster a Chicago White Sox farm system that isn’t as strong as they would like. They would be getting some high-upside players that we could see at the major league level later this summer.

The Los Angeles Dodgers would be adding to what is already a ridiculously deep and talented roster. Robert, Crochet and Kopech can all be difference-makers for teams not only this season but in the future. They’re under team control through 2027, 2026 and 2025, respectively.
