The Golden State Warriors have added another piece to their training camp roster by signing forward Tyler Burton to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to reports from Spotrac’s Keith Smith.
The move comes shortly after the team waived guard Miles Kelly, restoring the Warriors to a full complement of 21 players as they sort through their final roster decisions ahead of the regular season.
Burton, a 6-foot-7 forward from Uxbridge, Massachusetts, arrives with a brief but productive stretch of NBA experience.
Last season, he appeared in 12 games for the Memphis Grizzlies after being called up on a pair of 10-day contracts, averaging 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 25.6 minutes per night.
His efficiency left room for improvement—he shot 37.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three—but the raw production suggested a player capable of contributing on both ends when given consistent minutes.
Those opportunities came after Burton spent the bulk of the previous campaign with Memphis’s G League affiliate, the Hustle, where he had established himself as a reliable scorer and rebounder.
The Warriors’ interest in Burton was formalized earlier through a G League transaction. Santa Cruz acquired his returning-player rights from the Memphis Hustle in a deal that sent Yuri Collins the other way.
That exchange effectively positioned Burton within Golden State’s developmental pipeline well before the Exhibit 10 signing was announced. For an organization that has long treated the Santa Cruz Warriors as a genuine extension of the parent club, securing those rights signaled an intention to evaluate Burton closely in the Bay Area system.
Before turning professional, Burton built a solid college résumé. He spent four seasons at Richmond, twice earning All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors and ranking among the Spiders’ all-time leaders in scoring and rebounding.
After withdrawing from the draft, he transferred to Villanova for his final season of eligibility, providing frontcourt depth and toughness for the Wildcats. He went undrafted in 2024 and began his pro career in the G League, eventually earning the call-ups that produced his first NBA statistics.
An Exhibit 10 deal is a non-guaranteed, one-year minimum-salary contract designed primarily for training-camp evaluation. It can be converted into a two-way contract before the season begins if a slot is available, or it can serve as a pathway to the G League.
Should Burton be waived prior to opening night and then spend at least 60 days with Santa Cruz, he would be eligible for a bonus of up to roughly $91,000 on top of his G League salary.
That structure gives the Warriors a low-risk look at a 26-year-old forward while giving Burton a clear financial incentive to remain in the organization if he does not stick on the NBA roster.
With standard and two-way spots already spoken for, Burton’s most likely destination is Santa Cruz, where he can continue developing and stay ready for a call-up if injuries or matchups create an opening.
For Golden State, the signing is a classic camp-roster maneuver—adding size, rebounding, and proven G League production without committing long-term money. For Burton, it represents another chance to show he belongs on an NBA floor, even if the path runs first through the affiliate in Santa Cruz.
