The Las Vegas Raiders moved to address their thin wide-receiver depth on Monday, signing 25-year-old Jamari Thrash to the practice squad ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo first reported the addition of the former Cleveland Browns fifth-round pick.

Thrash, waived off injured reserve by the Browns last month after an injury settlement, is healthy and available. In a corresponding move, the Raiders placed receiver Tyler Scott on injured reserve.

The Raiders have been shorthanded at the position. Head coach Klint Kubiak indicated that Jalen Nailor is expected back at practice this week and that Dont’e Thornton Jr. is progressing in his return from IR.

If those players are not ready, the active options include Tre Tucker, Cody White, Dareke Young, Malik Benson, and Deven Thompkins. Elevating Thrash from the practice squad remains an option if needed.

Thrash was selected 156th overall by Cleveland in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Louisville.

He spent four seasons at Georgia State before transferring, posting a breakout 2022 campaign with 61 catches for 1,122 yards and seven touchdowns, then adding 63 receptions for 858 yards and six scores in his lone year with the Cardinals.

At the NFL Combine, he ran a 4.46-second 40-yard dash, highlighting the straight-line speed that made him a draftable prospect.

His professional production has been limited. Across 18 games with the Browns over two seasons, Thrash recorded 13 receptions for 129 yards and no touchdowns.

He appeared in nine games as a rookie (three catches, 22 yards) and improved modestly in 2025 (10 catches for 107 yards in nine contests) before the injury that led to his release. He recently worked out for the Denver Broncos before landing with Las Vegas.

At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Thrash profiles as a developmental speed option who can contribute on special teams or as a downfield threat if he earns a promotion.

For a Raiders offense still searching for consistent production outside the top of the depth chart, the signing provides low-risk depth and another body who has shown the ability to get open vertically in college.

Whether Thrash sees the field against Buffalo or remains a practice-squad option will depend on the health of Nailor and Thornton and how he performs in practice.

For now, the move gives Las Vegas another athletic piece while the team evaluates longer-term solutions at the position.
