The Marlins are in the middle of an extended losing streak threatening to push them out of National League wild-card contention, so the conversation around their potential trade deadline moves has intensified. Completing the deal would be Keaton Anthony, a sharp-hitting first baseman whose path to regular playing time in Philadelphia is obstructed by Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber. Anthony’s bat offers immediate value in a different organizational context, even if his power and defensive profile make him more of a niche major-league contributor.
