The New York Yankees are expected to make some significant moves between now and the MLB trade deadline, and why shouldn’t they?

The Yankees are right in the thick of the American League pennant race, but they have some clear holes they must address if they want to win a World Series.

New York needs upgrades at catcher and in its bullpen, and depending on how much longer Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton will remain sidelined, it may need an extra bat, as well.

The Yankees are armed with some very intriguing prospects they could move, as well as young outfielders Jasson Dominguez and Spencer Jones.

Of course, making trades is easier said than done, and the market will be very competitive.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone was asked about the trade front on Saturday, and let’s just say his response didn’t exactly sit well with fans.

“All is quiet on the western front,” Boone said, via Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Of course, this could simply be typical coach-speak by Boone. He surely doesn’t want to reveal New York’s hand, and let’s be honest: he isn’t the general manager. That’s Brian Cashman’s job, and surely, Cashman does not want Boone letting the cat out of the bag.

On the same token, though, the Yanks have been known for being a bit stingy with their prospects in recent years, and doing so again in 2026 could absolutely put the kibosh on impactful trades.

Names like Hunter Goodman, Ryan Jeffers, Shea Langeliers and Mason Miller have all been floated as possibilities for the Yankees, and there have even been rumors about the Bronx Bombers checking in on San Francisco Giants second baseman Luis Arraez.

Up until this point, however, nothing concrete has surfaced, and that makes sense considering the deadline isn’t until Aug. 3. It’s also important to note that the sellers have not been fully flushed out just yet.

There really isn’t much Boone can say that would satisfy Yankees fans at this stage. They are already frustrated with their skipper enough as it is, and again, it’s not like he can expose too much intel.

We’ll see what New York decides to do in the coming days.
