As one of the top contenders for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders is leaning toward participating in the upcoming NFL scouting combine. During the latest episode of his 2Legendary YouTube show, Sanders said he plans to attend the combine, stating, “I think so” when asked about his participation.

While it’s common for top prospects to skip certain activities at the combine, Sanders’ decision to participate is noteworthy. Last year, Caleb Williams, the 2024 draft’s No. 1 pick, opted not to participate in any combined activities, including medical testing and measurements. Williams explained that he felt confident in his body of work, saying, “Go ahead and go watch real-live ball of me, and see how I am as a competitor.”

Unlike Williams, Shedeur Sanders is not universally regarded as the top quarterback prospect for the 2025 draft. Some rank him behind Miami’s Cam Ward. However, a strong showing at the combine could bolster Sanders’ stock, especially as he remains a strong candidate for the No. 1 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans.

Although there’s always a risk that a poor performance could hurt his draft positioning, Sanders is considered one of the most polished quarterbacks in this draft class. Given the limited depth at the quarterback position, a bad workout is unlikely to result in a dramatic fall down the board.

Deion Sanders has publicly stated he would intervene if his son were to be selected by certain teams. While Coach Prime did not specify which teams he would block, this potential drama could add an intriguing layer to the lead-up to the draft.

Shedeur Sanders has a wealth of college experience, having started 50 games across four seasons at Jackson State and Colorado. As a senior in 2024, the 22-year-old led all FBS quarterbacks with a 74.0 completion percentage, ranked second with 37 touchdown passes, and finished fourth with 4,134 passing yards. These impressive numbers add to his compelling case as one of the draft’s top quarterback prospects.

The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine is scheduled from Feb. 27 to March 2 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
