Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani Accomplishes Rare Feat

On Friday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the Los Angeles Angels. It was the first time that Shohei Ohtani would be playing against his former team since signing a megadeal with the Dodgers in free agency.

In Shohei Ohtani’s first game against the Angels, he had to have suffered from a bout of PTSD. Throughout his tenure with the franchise, he would accomplish incredible things on the field, but the team would still lose.

He and Mike Trout would produce at a high level, but no one else accomplished anything. On Friday, the Los Angeles Dodgers gave him a taste of what he is missing from his time with the Angels.

Shohei Ohtani went 2-for-2 in the game with two walks. He launched his 22nd home run of the season and knocked in their only two runs of the game. According to OptaSTATS on X, that has resulted in him accomplishing something that hasn’t been done in at least 25 seasons.

He is the only major league player to have multiple hits, multiple walks and multiple RBI in a game while no one else on his team drew a walk or recorded an RBI. It was a one-man shot on Friday in a 3-2 loss for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Shohei Ohtani did everything in his power to help his team get a win on Friday night, but it was not enough. This was a routine occurrence with the Angels, as he would produce at a high clip but wins were far and few between.

For the game, Dodgers outside of Ohtani managed only three hits and struck out eight times. It was a small blip in the radar in a very long season, as the Los Angeles Dodgers still have a record of 47-31, while the Angles improved to 30-45.
