Phoenix Suns star Bradley Beal could make his return to the lineup this weekend, according to NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Beal sprained his right ankle against the New York Knicks on December 15.

The Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards in June. Beal hasn’t been able to stay healthy thus far this season. He’s only played in six games. Before hurting his ankle, Beal dealt with back issues.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Bradley Beal, Phoenix Suns Updates

A three-time All-Star, Beal is averaging 14.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season while shooting 44.9% from the field, 42.9% from beyond the arc and 70.8% from the free-throw line. The Suns are 2-4 with Beal in the lineup and 15-15 overall.

Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant have only played in two games together this season. The Suns are expected to compete for the title this season with Beal, Booker and Durant leading the way. They entered the season with the third-best title odds.

However, Beal’s inability to stay on the court has hurt the Suns. It is one of the reasons many pundits questioned the Suns’ decision to acquire the Florida product in the offseason. Beal is a talented player, but he’s been prone to injuries ever since he entered the NBA in 2012.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Bradley Beal, Phoenix Suns Updates

Beal has career averages of 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists with the Wizards and Suns. He signed a five-year, $251 million contract with Washington in July 2022. Beal is making $46 million this season.
