Packers Receive Brutal ‘Freak’ Injury News Before Wild Card

Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers may find themselves without their top cornerback when they take on the Dallas Cowboys this upcoming Sunday.

According to Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur, Jaire Alexander sustained an unexpected ankle injury during Wednesday’s practice session, describing it as a “freak” accident.

“Kind of a freak deal yesterday… stepped on someone’s foot and rolled an ankle.”

As of now, Alexander’s status is listed as day-to-day, prompting LaFleur to make the cautious decision to keep their All-Pro cornerback out of practice today.

It’s worth noting that Alexander has already faced a significant amount of time on the sidelines this season due to various injuries. If he is unable to suit up for the upcoming Sunday clash, it would undoubtedly be a devastating blow to the Packers’ secondary.

Since his entry into the league in 2018, Alexander has compiled an impressive stat line, including 271 total tackles, 63 passes defended, 10 interceptions, and three forced fumbles.

Packers fans will be anxiously awaiting the team’s announcement regarding Alexander’s status for the Wild Card Weekend, with a collective sense of unease looming until that crucial update is provided.
