The Cleveland Browns signed quarterback Joe Flacco for the remainder of the regular season earlier this week, and Flacco seems up for the challenge.

“I know I want to play,” Flacco said, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “Me wanting to play is not in question.”

Flacco could end up making $4.05 million this season if all of his incentives kick in.

Currently, the veteran will make $75,000 for the rest of the regular season, but he would then make $250,000 for a Wild Card Round playoff win, $500,000 for a Divisional Round playoff win, $1 million if he leads the Browns to a Super Bowl appearance and then another $2 million for a Super Bowl victory.

Obviously, that will be a tall order for Flacco and the Browns, but the opportunity is there.

Cleveland signed Flacco to its practice squad last month, and on Dec. 3, Flacco ended up getting the start in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He went 23-for-44 with 254 yards, a couple of touchdowns and an interception and showed that he was probably the club’s best option under center with Deshaun Watson sidelined.

Then, this past weekend, Flacco led the Browns to a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, going 26-for-45 with 311 yards, three touchdowns and a pick.

Flacco had previously spent the last three years with the New York Jets, going 1-8 in nine starts.

Of course, the 38-year-old is most known for his 11-year tenure with the Baltimore Ravens between 2008 and 2018, where he led the Ravens to a championship during the 2012-13 campaign.

He also spent one season with the Denver Broncos in 2019.

Cleveland is 8-5 on the year and would be in the playoffs if the season ended today. Joe Flacco and Co. will take on the Chicago Bears this Sunday before battling the Houston Texans, Jets and Cincinnati Bengals to close out the regular season.
